Why does Sterling Webb at Sterling Springs need fast cash?

UPDATE:  Sterling has dropped his price to $8.900.

Craig's List will take the ad at THIS LINK down, soon, so i've memorialized it for you on this blog page.
Why does anything instigated by Sterling Webb feel like a scam to me?  Is it because of his past history of scams and lawsuits?  Does anyone remember the Tennessee Mini-Farm, Inc. (Sky Harbor) fiasco from the 70's?  The developer sold the same few lots over and over, queering the deeds for the next twenty years.
For your perusal, here's Sterling's latest money-fied adventure:
Avoid scams and fraud by dealing locally! Beware any arrangement involving Western Union, Moneygram, wire transfer, or a landlord/owner who is out of the country or cannot meet you in person. More info

  1. Re Sterling E. Webb...

If you check the Tennessee Real Estate Commission, quess what? You'll find they do not show that Webb ever held a TN real estate, time share salesperson, timeshare developer, vacation lodging services firm or acquition agent licence.

Nor do they show that any of the companies associated with him(Wahoo Vacation Club, Wahoo Zip-Lines, WSL Development, Eco Summit Development, Sterling Webb Construction, Inc., Wahoo Vacation Express, Sterling Springs Resort, Sterling Springs,LLC, Sterling Springs Property Assoc, were ever licenced as a real estate firm, timeshare developer, or vacation lodging company, timeshare developer, or a vacation lodging company.

They do show a Vacation Lodging Services co by the name of Sterling Springs Resort Rentals, Inc. which was a licensed VSL(#299) from 11/10/2008-11/9/2010. Then the licence expired.

The Designated Agent of that co was listed on the application as Jennifer L. Kegley. At the time, the DA was not required to be separately licensed, nor was the co required to notify TREC if the DA changed.

The address of that co was 605 Stockton Drive, Sevierville, Tn. 37876.

What a bunch of crap? A Ponzi scheme and big time fraud is what's been happening, reading through this blog. You'd think the IRS, FBI or Sevier County DA would be all over this stuff.

Webb's about as straight up as Boltz and Madoff. Imagine they're happy to have company.

And the river zip line. Anyone know what's up with that?

    1. Thank you for your thoughtful post. I found it very helpful.

And, yes... please... anyone... what's happening with the zip line over the French Broad River?

  2. Apparently what's left of Sterling Springs Resort and Wahoo Zip Lines has been taken over by Chris Fortune under the new "Wahoo Ziplines TN, LLC" company.

  3. That information is correct. Sterling Webb is out of the development completely including the zipline. The hoa kicked him out. Fortune just bought the assets of the zipline from the info I heard and took over some cabin rentals. The hoa had already changed the name of the subdivision to Grand View Resorts because he had basically lied or cheated everyone in there at one point or the other so they couldn't wait to throw him out. The guy is the laughing stock of Sevier County but he still lurks around looking for someone who can help him feed his habits..sniff sniff
